What is internet speed test?

It is deliberately download-only. Your upload bandwidth is never measured, so none of your data ever leaves your device — the test only receives anonymous random bytes from large public CDN endpoints and times how quickly they arrive. There is no account, no saved history, and no tracking.
The download phase uses several parallel connections and an adaptive transfer size: quick connections pull more data automatically so the reading stays accurate on fast lines, while slower connections finish fast without wasting your mobile data.
