Hash Identifier — Hash Identifier tells you which algorithm most likely produced a digest. It analyses the structure — length in hex characters, character set, and known constant prefixes like the famous MD5 digest of an empty string — and ranks the plausible algorithms.
Identification is pure string analysis in your browser. Your digest never leaves this page.

What is Hash Identifier?
Hash Identifier tells you which algorithm most likely produced a digest. It analyses the structure — length in hex characters, character set, and known constant prefixes like the famous MD5 digest of an empty string — and ranks the plausible algorithms.
Length is strong evidence: 32 hex characters means a 128-bit digest (MD5 or NTLM), 64 means 256-bit (SHA-256 family), 128 means SHA-512 or BLAKE2b. For the four algorithms Uttir can compute locally, you can hash a known text and compare digests to confirm the guess.
How to use it
-
Paste the digest
Whitespace, colons, and a 0x prefix are tolerated.
-
Read the candidates
Matches are ranked by length evidence.
-
Confirm by comparison
Hash a known input locally and compare digests when possible.
Examples
A 32-character digest
d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e is 32 hex chars and matches the known MD5 digest of an empty string — identified as MD5.
d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e
Result: MD5 (length match + empty-input constant match)
