Color Screen

Fill your screen with any solid color to test a display, find dead pixels, clean dust off a monitor, or take a color reference shot. Click to go fullscreen.

Color Screen — A solid-color fullscreen is one of the simplest and most useful screen tools. It turns your display into a clean, even surface of light, which makes individual dead or stuck pixels easy to spot, makes dust and smudges obvious, and gives you a known color reference for photography or calibration.

Everything runs locally. No color data, screenshots, or display info is sent anywhere.

What is color screen?

A solid-color fullscreen is one of the simplest and most useful screen tools. It turns your display into a clean, even surface of light, which makes individual dead or stuck pixels easy to spot, makes dust and smudges obvious, and gives you a known color reference for photography or calibration.

Pick from the preset colors (white, black, red, green, blue) or use the color picker for any custom shade. Click the screen to go fullscreen; press Esc to exit. The whole thing runs in your browser — no screenshots, display data, or anything else is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Pick a color

Click a preset (white, black, red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, magenta) or use the color picker for a custom RGB value.

  2. Click to go fullscreen

Click anywhere on the color. The cursor disappears for an unobstructed view. Press F to toggle the cursor back on if you need it.

  3. Exit

Press Esc to leave fullscreen. The page resets to the picker.

Examples

Dead-pixel test

A pure white screen is the easiest way to spot a dead pixel (which will appear as a black dot) or a stuck pixel (which will be the wrong color).

Result: Click the white swatch, then click the screen to go fullscreen. Inspect the panel from arm's length.

Dust check

A bright primary color (red, green, or blue) shows dust and smudges more clearly than white, which tends to wash out surface contamination.

Result: Click the red swatch, then click the screen. Any dust or smudges will appear as faint darker spots.

Custom reference color

Need a specific shade for a photo or measurement? Use the color picker to dial in any RGB value.

Result: Pick a color via the color input. The screen will fill with exactly that color.
